Pairing food with wine

Why spend the time learning how to pair food with wine? Most of us just drink what we like, and eat what we want, right?

Well, you should know that…

When you pair the RIGHT food with the PERFECT wine – you take your dining experience to whole new heights! Wine has the uncanny ability to accentuate the flavors of food or divert attention away from it.

After reading Merlot + Brussels Sprouts you will confidently walk down that wine aisle and buy wine you actually like. You will show up to a dinner party with the perfect bottle of wine. You will start drinking better quality wine without spending more money. And you will become a more educated consumer.

The food photography in the book was done by yours truly, as I wrote, drank, cooked, and photographed my way through the development of this book.

Cant’t wait to have you read it!

Author & Book Bio

Mandy Nash is the first self-published author to write a book about pairing wine with plant-based foods. Her book Merlot + Brussels Sprouts is a must-read for any wine enthusiast who loves to cook and learn about wine in a fun, easy to read format.

Cauliflower Potato Curry

Here is a sneak peak into the recipes section of Merlot + Brussels Sprouts.

The cauliflower potato curry featured here is flavored with vegetable broth, ginger, curry, and cumin. Served over jasmine rice, this curry is dairy free, gluten free, meat free, and loaded with flavor.

I’m pairing this mildly spicy, super delicious meal, with a light-bodied white wine like Gewurztraminer or Riesling.

My book, Merlot + Brussels Sprouts will show you how to pair food with wine and explain why certain foods taste best with particular wines!

Desserts with Butter & Eggs

I have a confession to make…. some of the recipes featured in my plant-based food and wine book, Merlot + Brussels Sprouts include dairy.

All recipes are considered vegetarian, but they are not 100% vegan, gluten free or anything else.

Plant-based is defined as a diet that includes lots of vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and legumes with few to no dairy or meat products.

And friends, the Apple Pie Crostada featured here is definitely one of “the few” recipes that I would eat and enjoy BECAUSE of the buttery pie crust. 🙂
